Eighty advertisers using adinfinitum e-tearsheets at Spokesman-Review Spokane: The Spokesman-Review of Spokane, Washington began an important search a few years ago. They were looking for a way to provide their advertisers with a tearsheet service while reducing the time and cost involved with the standard hard copy tearsheets. Several vendors were thoroughly reviewed for their functionality, ease of use for the customer and the monthly cost. The winning vendor was clear. The newspaper selected adinfinitum from Presteligence to host their electronic tearsheets. There were some key factors for the newspaper when making this decision. According to Margie Bensching, Rate Development Specialist at the Spokesman-Review, "We liked the ease of the site, the ability to have our advertisers see the paper online, the electronic invoices worked while the other vendors did not work and the customer service is great!" Now, almost a year after going live with the service, The Spokesman-Review is extremely pleased with their decision and is reaping more benefits than they had originally expected. Margie states, "After going from hard copy prints to electronic tearsheets, the newspaper's classified department is saving close to eight hours a week in collecting tearsheets for their classified advertisers. Adinfinitum's ability to quickly locate the ad on a page has really helped our advertisers when they are searching for their classified ads." The benefits of adinfnitum have a positive impact not only on the advertising departments, but other departments as well. In fact, the financial side of the business has seen tremendous improvements over the old tearsheet method. Margie says, "Our accounting department has seen a timesaving when looking for an ad of about 20 minutes per search." Now, customer's questions can be answered quickly, in turn payment is received faster, increasing cash flow. Both the national and local advertisers have been accepting electronic tearsheets. As of February 23rd, The Spokesman-Review had 80 advertisers using the site, and plans are underway to roll out the service to many more advertisers and agencies. In fact, some of their advertisers have requested the electronic service. The newspaper has stopped sending hard copies to a large group of classified advertisers, and they have reduced their ROP hard copy tearsheet list. By cutting a good portion of their hard copy tearsheet distribution, the cost savings have been very noticeable in the postage and delivery area. In addition, Margie explains, "Our sales reps now are able to devote more time to selling since they no longer have to search through a drawer for hard copy tearsheets.” Because of the recent integration with co-op advertisers AdMall and Multi-Ad Recas, the newspaper is very excited to see how the co-op service and the billing side of adinfinitum works together. This new functionality allow co-op advertising clients to easily access their e-tearsheets for improved customer service, faster ad verification and a shorter payment cycle for publishers. In addition, the electronic process will eliminate the need and time involved with co-op advertising paperwork and mailing. |
