The Repository Launches AudioNewsstand through Presteligence

The Repository (Canton, Ohio) pilot launched an audio version of their newspaper this past July through AudioNewsstand (www.audio-newsstand.com). Developed by Presteligence, AudioNewsstand offers quality in-depth local content to those who prefer listening to news rather than reading it.

Presteligence converts the stories received from The Repository to audio files via computer generated synthesized speech. The production can embed articles with corresponding photos and/or advertisements. Presteligence's patented subscription delivery mechanism automatically downloads the users' subscriptions to their computer or portable MP3 Player for listening on the go. It evens delivers breaking news stories.

From an end users standpoint, they simply register with an email address and password and subscribe to the categories and/or headlines of the sections that most interest them. Local headlines and Top Stories are most popular with The Repository subscribers. AudioNewsstand allows an easy way for commuters, travelers, truck drivers, and military to stay in touch with their local news source. Relocated families, the blind, and those with poor site also find AudioNewsstand to be a valuable local news source. A downloaded application runs 'behinds the scenes', making local news available when and where you want it.

AudioNewsstand adds to Presteligence's existing suite of products and is their first opportunity to expand their reach to the consumer market.
