Glens Falls Post Register, Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer, Doylestown Intelligencer, Burlington County Times, Bucks County Courier Times, Austin American-Statesman, Erie Times-News, Sun Newspapers, and several of New York Times Regional properties have all recently purchased Presteligence solutions. You may wonder…how are these newspapers affording to purchase new software when your own budget doesn’t afford you to buy office supplies?
It’s quite simple. These products save them money.
Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer’s implementation of Adinfinitum will allow their remote sites to upload artwork and ads via the website as they move to consolidate their ad production across other Paxton Media properties. This will create efficiencies within their advertising and sales departments. Adinfinitum offers an entire suite of advertising services from the beginning of the ad process to the time the ad is invoiced. The portal lets advertisers upload ads and/or ad material, proof and approve ads, view tearsheets, request pick up ads, and view and pay invoices online. It presents a huge savings to newspapers in terms of postage, paper, and employee time.
Calkins Media (Doylestown, Bucks County, and Burlington) also purchased the entire suite of Adinfinitum which will deliver an ROI in less than nine months. They will also implement My News…On the Go, a multi-media electronic edition. As a multi-media electronic edition, subscribers can read their subscription online, via their mobile, or listen to the virtual newscasters read stories to them. Erie Times-News switched to Presteligence’s e-edition from another vendor in order to save money and manual labor hours. They currently offer e-edition as a value-added service to their print subscriptions and offer an e-edition only subscription option.
Ink-Miser ink optimization was selected as the standard for the New York Times Regional Media Group properties. After much research and testing, they found a savings of over 20% in their current ink costs with Ink-Miser. Much of their decision was based on Ink Miser’s ability to match their high production standards of color quality. Ink-Miser replaces the grey components of Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow with less expensive black ink. Lakeland Ledger, Tuscaloosa News, Florence Times Daily, Houma Courier, Gainesville Sun, Ocala Star Banner, and Sarasota Herald Tribune will be the first sites to implement this cost-saving software.
