Moving high-resolution images around your network can cause slow-downs that dramatically reduce production performance. With GUSS, workstations clear in seconds, no matter how many images are printed. GUSS' high-speed retrieval system allows for high performance even in peak production times.

GUSS OPI allows a low-resolution preview to be used within the page layout in place of the high-resolution image. This preview contains only a small sampling of the original data, so it can be easily moved without bogging down the network. At print time, high-resolution images are automatically inserted in place of the previews as the job is being sent to the output device. Some systems actually insert high-resolution data into the PostScript file as it spools into the server. This can create a mammoth file that must be written to disk, severely hurting performance and wasting valuable disk space.
