How does Xtreme Inking work in a CTP environment?
Prior to CTP, many users had an electronic page area reader that would scan a negative for presets. Many users have lost this capability in a CTP environment, so Xtreme Inking is critical. It will help to control waste and improve the print quality on cold starts of the press runs.
What distinguishes Xtreme inking from other CIP 3-based
ink presetting systems?
Xtreme inking can communicate with your press in one of three ways.
It can automatically interface with your press so your press control
system directly accepts the ink values without any manual intervention.
Xtreme Inking can generate a CIP 3 File that your press reads. If your
press can't read files, Xtreme Inking will generate a report of the ink
presets that can be manually entered on the press. Don't think that you
have to update your press to save money!
How do newspapers achieve an immediate payback?
By predicting ink presets, Xtreme Inking saves expensive make-ready
time and reduces paper waste. During start-up, an experienced pressman
can accomplish real savings of time and materials–up to an hour per
run, and hundreds of pages.
What's a typical installation like?
The installation of Xtreme Inking software typically ranges from a few days to one week depending on the size of the newspaper and system integration.
What are the upgrade options?
Presteligence upgrades
and version releases are included as part of the service support contract.
What type of support do you offer?
We
offer service support contracts to all our customers. Our support is
available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
